Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who can use the Health Hub?

The Health Hub is for people aged 18 and over. Anyone can attend the Hub. However, if you are not registered at one of the following GP surgeries we won’t be able to undertake any clinical interventions, since we won’t have access to your medical record. Despite this, we can offer general information and advice. Our nine GP surgeries are: Arch Healthcare, Ardingly Court Surgery, Broadway Surgery, Park Crescent Health Centre, Pavilion Surgery, Regency Surgery, St Peter’s Health Centre, Wellsbourne Healthcare CIC, Woodingdean Medical Centre.

2. What if I’m not registered with one of the GP practices listed?

We will still be able to see you, but because we need to keep you safe, we can’t offer any specific medical advice (for example, about changing medications). We can offer broad advice and signposting to the right help and support that you need. If you are from a practice that we don’t cover, with your permission, we will write to them to let them know that you’ve visited the Hub.

3. Can I still be seen at the Health Hub if I’m not registered with a GP at all?

Yes, you can still access support at the Health Hub even if you are not currently registered with a GP. We will still be able to see you and we can even help you register with a GP if you need to.

4. Do I need an appointment?

No appointment is needed — the East Brighton Health Hub is a drop-in service, so you can simply turn up between 10am and 1pm every Friday. This makes it easy to access support without having to plan ahead.

However, because it's a drop-in service, waiting times can vary depending on how busy we are and which professional you would like to see. Some services may have short waits, while others might be in higher demand on certain days. We appreciate your patience and will do our best to ensure that everyone is seen and supported.

If the professional you need isn’t available that day, we’ll help you plan next steps or signpost you to the right place for follow-up care.

5. Where is the Health Hub located?

You will find us at Robert Lodge Community Space, in Whitehawk, East Brighton. Situated at 35–70 Manor Place, Brighton, BN2 5FG.

There are three different entrances to the Robert Lodge community space. The Health Hub is located in the central courtyard area, between the blocks of buildings. To find it, head toward the garden space in the middle, look out for a yellow door and signage that will guide you to the Health Hub entrance.

6. Can I see more than one professional in one visit?

Yes! One of the key benefits of the Health Hub is the opportunity to see multiple professionals in a single visit, all in one location. This makes it easier to get joined-up, holistic support without needing to attend different appointments.

Our team works closely together to ensure your care is coordinated and person-centred, meaning you get the support that’s right for you in one place, at one time.

7. Can I use the Health Hub to book a doctor’s appointment?

No, you can't book a doctor’s appointment through the Health Hub.

If you need to see a doctor, please contact your GP surgery directly. You will need to call your GP surgery or use their website to book an appointment.

We can help guide you if you’re not sure what to do or where to go.

8. Does the Hub have access to my medical record?

Yes we do, as long as you’re registered at one of the 9 GP services we cover. This helps us to ensure your safety and makes sure that we’re able to provide you with the best and most appropriate support. Our staff will take notes during your consultations, and record them on your GP record - unless there’s anything you don’t want to be included.

9. Can I use the Health Hub for emergency care?

No, the Health Hub is not for emergency care.

If you or someone you know are seriously ill or hurt and need help straight away, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E (Accident and Emergency) hospital.

The Health Hub is here to give you advice, support, and information to help you stay well. We can help guide you to the right service if you're not sure what to do — but for emergencies, you must contact NHS emergency services.

10. Is the Health Hub free to use?

Yes, the Health Hub is free to use.

You can visit the Health Hub without any charge to receive support and guidance on various health and wellbeing topics.

11. How long will my consultations take?

12. Can I bring my children?

Yes, you can bring your children to the Hub, but we won’t be able to offer advice or support for them. Our staff are trained to work with adults only.

13. Can I get advice about someone that I’m worried about, or that I care for?
