Occupational Therapist

OTs will look at how you are managing in terms of your environment, health, and doing the things that you need to do – whether this is having a bath, cooking dinner, getting out and about or doing the things that you enjoy.

At the Health Hub, the Occupational Therapist can offer:

✔️ Discussion of care needs e.g. struggling with personal care (referral for support if required)

✔️ Refer for support for carers

✔️ Advice regarding falls

✔️ Discuss equipment needs and consider further assessment if required

✔️ Advice regarding change in mobility

✔️ Advice for engaging in hobbies including signposting to local groups

✔️ Advice for change in memory/cognition

✔️ Take a detailed history of a change in physical condition

✔️ Signpost to other services

At the Health Hub, we can’t:

❌ Request adaptations for your home e.g. grab rails, wet rooms, ramps, stair lifts

❌ Complete comprehensive specialist assessments or address multiple concerns during the drop-in

❌ Provide letters or reports to support benefit claims (e.g. PIP) or confirm someone is unable to work – this should be discussed with a GP or appropriate clinician involved in ongoing care.
